Inductive sensors only detect metal parts. They are thus insensitive to dirt. Contrinex inductive sensors are particularly suited to tough environmental conditions.
Photoelectric sensors work with light, which results in long operating distances. They detect conducting and non-conducting materials, and are best suited for adaption to specific applications.
Capacitive sensors are suitable for applications where non-conducting, transparent objects have to be detected, or where a clear difference in dielectric properties exclusively distinguishes the target from its background.
RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) allows objects to be identified by means of electronic labels (transponders or tags). Contrinex all-metal RFID systems are particularly suitable for tough environmental conditions.
