Swiss sensor technology group Contrinex is set to boost activities in China with a new national head office in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and a new state-of-the-art production site in Suzhou.
Contrinex is China’s premier supplier of high precision, Swiss-quality, ASIC-based industrial sensors. With the inauguration of a new, wholly owned head office in Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone, the global sensor technology group enters a new phase of reinforcing and expanding its presence in the Chinese market. As Mrs. Heimlicher, CEO of the Contrinex Group, explains: “China is a dynamic market at the forefront of automation innovation and machine building. Contrinex has therefore decided to provide high-level solutions through its own highly trained technical sales team.”
The Shanghai Swiss Center, China’s hub of Sino-Swiss innovation and cooperation, provides an ideal location for the national head office to oversee this new phase. The original joint venture, which dates from 2003, is being wound down and a new large-scale, state-of-the-art production facility has been built in Suzhou. Contrinex’s strict quality standards and high levels of scrutiny at all stages of production will optimize workplace efficiency and safety while ensuring customer satisfaction.
The new organizational structure will bring further advantages for customers. Contrinex’s full portfolio of highly precise ASIC-based inductive and photoelectric sensors, as well as safety light curtains, will immediately be available for distribution and purchase in China. In addition, according to Mrs. Heimlicher: “A direct line between our Swiss R&D team and the new production facility in China will enable us to provide specific solutions in a short time. This is particularly important for customers in China, who often require customized sensors with very exact technical specifications.”
Contrinex, founded in 1972, has grown from a one-man operation into a multi-national group now employing over 500 people worldwide and maintaining an active presence in over 60 countries. The company focuses on the development, manufacture and sales of top quality sensing equipment for industrial applications. In particular, Contrinex specializes in miniature devices, long operating distances, resistance to extreme environmental conditions, and devices in full-metal housings.
Standout Contrinex innovations include the world’s smallest inductive sensor (the “MiniMini”), high-pressure resistant sensors in practically indestructible housings, world-class ASIC-based sensors, and the leading offer in IO-Link sensors for smart factory applications.
Sales of Contrinex products have recently experienced double digit growth in key markets, including Europe, North America and South America.
