PRIMARY JOB RESPONSABILITIES

Role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Director, APAC to lead our Operations in Asia. Based in Dubai or Colombo, this position will manage our entire supply chain in Asia, with a focus on our Sri Lankan factory where almost 250 employees are currently employed. This newly created role requires a significant experience in multi sites management of electronic component manufacturing within an international and dynamic environment. Your strong interpersonal skills will help you to strengthen relationship with all local management to support them to grow and achieve their goals. You will create a safe and inclusive workplace for employees and develop a competent and engaged workforce.  In addition, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of our operations.

Mutli sites Management

  • Lead the APAC Operations organisation, including 3 production locations and regional staff.
  • Responsible for meeting production, quality, and logistics KPIs.
  • Follow up and solve day-to-day issues with local teams.
  • Build an engaged and inclusive organization, covering the necessary operations competences and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement local Operations strategies as well as an Asset & Maintenance strategy, to enable business growth, stay competitive and ensure long-term efficient operations.
  • Define an annual Operations plan along with the annual production budget, reflecting the supply plan, KPI’s and improvement initiatives.

Maintain Quality policy

  • Implement and maintain a EHS & Security management system.
  • Implement and ensure a continuous improvement culture within the factories.
  • Respect the Customer and Group quality standards imposed and implement the adequate corrective and preventive actions to correct potential defects together with local Quality and Operations Managers.
  • Ensure processes are aligned with ISO 9001 and UL requirements together with Quality Managers.

Reporting

  • Report bi-weekly to Group Operations Director about the performance of all plant supply chain

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Production Engineering or related fields.
  • Master’s in Business Administration or related fields.
  • 10+ Factory Management in an industrial and international company.
  • 10+ Multisite Finance management is a big asset.
  • Experience in implementing strategies and managing complex change and investment projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of business and planning cycle
  • Strategic thinking in business and operational processes
  • Electronic and/or mechanical know-how is desired.
  • Management experience of foreign cultures, especially in Asia
  • Leadership capability to lead a large organisation, with strong people and coaching skills.
  • Excellent organizational, tracking skills, focused on keeping timelines and meeting targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – both business relation support and engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Pragmatic, with good self-organisational skills, cross-cultural sensitivity and customer focus.
  • Fluent in English.
  • This position can be based in                                                                                    – Dubai with approx. 50% travel or                                                                          – Colombo with approx. 20% travel.
