Managing Director UK

Based in Contrinex UK, Birmingham
Reporting to our CSO & CTO


  • Implement sales strategy for the UK market
  • Follow up international key accounts with local production sites
  • Identify and develop local key accounts
  • Development of OEM business, spec in Contrinex products
  • Organize and conduct customer training / workshops
  • Initiate and follow up on marketing activities (such as direct mailings, email campaign etc) to potential customers
  • Develop and manage distributor relationships
  • Proactively promote and build the Contrinex brand
  • Recruit, lead, manage and motivate the sales team
  • Manage and control the overall business – including inventory, payments and banking
  • Report key business indicators and results to the CSO
  • Oversee sales execution and fulfilment processes – ordering, invoicing, shipping, returns, customer service
  • Liaise with external service providers, including auditors, tax authorities, banks


  • The Candidate will be an ambitious sales manager with at least 5 years of experience in Factory Automation business within UK. Experience of the sensor industry is not imperative but of great advantage.
  • The successful Candidate ideally will have an Electrical Engineering degree.
  • Residency in UK is required.
  • Language: English, German or French is an asset.
  • Candidates must demonstrate tangible success at personally delivering significant turnover growth.
  • Must have “roll-up the sleeves” attitude and be willing to spend a significant amount of time visiting target factories on management level, shop floor and maintenance level.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial and street-smart, ‘can do’ attitude, self-motivated drive, and a winning personality.
  • Will be able to bond with, and be convincing and credible with directors, technicians and purchasing responsibilities as well as with shop floor and maintenance people.
  • Candidates will be inherently competitive and tenacious in ‘making deals’ and closing sales.
